Romanian Levant: 1911 (20 May). Postcard titled ‘S.M.J. Sultan Mehmed Khan V’ to Waldenburg, Germany franked with two pairs of 5pa of 1910 issue for twenty paras postcard rate tied by COSPOLI PORT datestamp. The Romanian post office attempted to create a postal service to Bucharest from a ship moored in the dock in Istanbul in 1905 but it was rapidly closed down following Ottoman objection. The service, while it lasted, used Austrian Levant adhesives with a Romanian three line datestamp. Usage with Ottoman stamps are scarce.
