Cover addressed to prisoner of war Private Anderson of the 1/6 Hampshire Regiment at Yarbasi province of Osmaniye, Turkey via Ottoman Red Crescent struck by Field Post Office datestamp and red censor cachet with unit numbers crossed out on both and OPENED BY CENSOR PW 754 censor label. Very few incoming mail survived to this destination.Yarbasi was one of the sections on the Berlin – Baghdad Railway Line and there was a branch hospital for the sick and wounded. Many prisoners (mainly from Kut) worked on the entrance of the tunnel from Adana side.
