Ottoman Greece: 1888 (11 May). Registered A.R. cover with its contents to Istanbul franked on reverse with strip of four 5pi of 1888 UPU Empire stamps and tied by YANYA [now Ioaninna] (A&P type 4, RRR) handstamps alongside JANINA (type 7, R) date stamp. According to 13.03.1884 postal tariff which also the date of issue for this stamp, internal registered letters charged 2pi for per 10gr. and further 2pi for acknowledgement receipt and since this cover is 50gr. total of 20pi charged. One of the earliest recorded usage of 5pi and one of the largest recorded multiple.
