Iran: 1918 (December). Cover sent by courier from the branch of the Imperial Bank of Persia in Resht to the main office in Teheran. Handled by the courier operation out of Kazvin, as indicated by the KVN in the datestamp. For important messages the British did not use the postal system but operated their own courier service. Such letters are numbered, endorse D.R.L.S. by the sender and marked with the ARMY TELEGRAPH cds.
