Turkey: 1941 (11 February). Registered airmail cover to Portugal franked with set of 1937 surcharged Air Mail and 3k Balkan Games of 1940 commemorative stamps tied by Istanbul datestamps. Because of World War II Athens – Rome route closed down and cover travelled through Belgrade (Zemun). Reverse 18 February transit and 27 & 28 February Lisbon arrival cds’s. Although philatelic still a very scarce cover.
